On 11 June, TDL and SEC4AI4SEC, a Horizon Europe project, are organising a half day conference on different aspects and dimensions pertaining to AI and cybersecurity, hosted with the friendly support of the Representation of the State of Hessen to the EU at rue Montoyer 21 in Brussels.
AI security has become a significant issue in AI systems development and adoption, in addition to its role as a tool supporting both defenders and attackers. From AI-assisted cyber-attacks to data exfiltration, in attacks on critical infrastructure and in support of widespread fraud, AI security has become a top issue.
The conference will discuss and explore topics related to AI security attacks, LLM-specific threats, the latest developments in relevant standardisation as well as AI’s use by defenders in the protection of critical infrastructure, improving evidence of issues and detecting attacks better and earlier than is possible without AI.
Interested? Register and join us on 11 June in the afternoon

15:30 Panel Discussion: Security for AI
The wider cybersecurity community had a reasonably good idea as to what the threat landscape looked like before the advent of AI technologies, so the focus and scope of this first panel is to look at emerging threats – from AI-assisted cyber-attacks to data exfiltration, LLM-specific threats, in attacks on critical infrastructure and in support of widespread fraud – and assessing how they can be best tackled.

- Apostolos Fournaris, Research Director, Industrial Systems Institute (ISI)
- Davide Martini, Senior Expert, Cybersecurity in Aviation, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)
- Stephan Marwedel, Technical Expert, Airbus (Hamburg)
- Maura Pintor, Assistant Professor, PRA Lab, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Cagliari
16:30 Coffee and tea break
16:45 Panel Discussion: AI and Security Standardisation
The second panel picks up on the theme of threat assessment and what steps the standards bodies, regulators and compliance assessors are taking or planning on taking to address the emerging challenges.
- Angelo D’Amato, Founder, Vulnir; STAN4CR Rapporteur, CEN and CENELEC
- Sammy Haddad, Research Director, Oppida
- Rob van der Veer, Chief AI Officer, Software Improvement Group (SIG)
- Katinka Clausdatter Worsøe, Attaché for Digitalization, Permanent Representation of Denmark to the Council of Europe
