There is a lot of research on the various types of tradeoff, from usability to performance, associated with security and privacy technologies. It is commonly understood that solutions in these areas need to minimise these tradeoffs to be successful.
But what is the reference influence? How do security, privacy and trust considerations affect the overall development of computing technologies? This topic is not well studied.
