Marko Hölbl is Associate Professor and Vice Dean for Research at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
He is vice-chairman of The Slovenian Society INFORMATIKA is a non-profit society of experts working in various fields of informatics and information technology in companies, universities and public administration. It was established in 1972, shortly after the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) congress held in Ljubljana the same year. Today it has around 300 members and publishes the professional journal “Uporabna Informatika” and the scientific journal Informatica. In addition, the association organises professional meetings, of which the traditional professional event of the year is the conference Days of Slovenian Informatics and the conference Informatics in Public Administration.
