Leading Jones Day’s Cybersecurity, Privacy & Data Protection Practice in Brussels, Jörg advises multinational clients across all industries, with an emphasis on automotive, IT, energy and medical devices. His work covers all areas of EU data protection, such as implementing GDPR and ePrivacy Regulation compliance programs, data breach preparedness, incident response and handling contentious issues.
Jörg has specific experience in developing strategies for international data transfers, including Binding Corporate Rules and assisting with approval procedures by EU data protection authorities. He is a co-chair of the International Association of Privacy Professionals´ (IAPP) Brussels KnowledgeNet, has authored more than 40 legal articles and is a co-author of leading EU commentaries, including Ehmann/Selmayr, GDPR, 1st and 2nd edition, 2017 and 2018. He also was invited to sit as a Legal Expert on a round table by the German Federal Ministry of the Interior during the trilogue negotiations on the GDPR. His practice is recommended in Tier 1 in The Legal 500 EMEA for EU Regulatory: Privacy and data protection (2016-2017) and he is continuously recognized by The International Who´s Who Information Technology Lawyers (2012-2018).
