Erik has wide strategic and tactical level expertise in eGovernment, eBusiness, enterprise (security) architectures, service-oriented architectures, governance, risk, compliance, service management and information security management. He has engaged at various levels within the Flemish and Belgian government and related agencies, the European Commission and a diverse spectrum of private industry organisations. Erik co-authored the blueprint for the Belgian Personal Identity Card Project (BelPIC) and was one of the instigators of a wide range of e-identity and eSignature services for eGovernment at the Flemish government. He is currently focussing on eGovernment-supporting services, trusted and trustworthy online and cloud services, trusted eco-systems and the governance of eco-systems, the challenges of large scale pilots, mobile and federated identities, as well as correct application of eSignature and eSeals.
