Dr. Komitas Stepanyan

Dr. Komitas StepanyanKomitas Stepanyan is the Director of Technology and Cybersecurity at the Central Bank of Armenia where he leads the development and implementation of IT and cybersecurity strategies, policies and standards for the organisation.

Komitas is a certified professional with 23+ years of experience in IT/cybersecurity governance, risk management, business continuity management, internal/IT audit, regulation and supervision.

He is a recognised professional for IMF and the World Bank as an expert on IT/Cybersecurity regulation and supervision and digital transformation. He conducted and led many technical assistance and capacity-building missions covering a diverse range of countries and topics.

He is adjunct professor at the American University of Armenia, holds a PhD degree in applied physics and has four recognised certificates (CRISC, CRMA, Cobit and SE&Phishing Mastery Certificate). He is a graduate of a “Public Policy and Public Administration” Certificate Program at Tufts University — the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (USA).

In recent years, he has been actively engaged in different programs and forums and was a speaker in many international events in the USA, Europe, Asia, Africa and post-Soviet countries.
