Jacoba is a digital identity expert, eager to make digital life better and a lot more secure than it is today! Energetic, creative personality, strategic thinker, networker with international orientation and experience. A regular keynote speaker at international IAM congresses, teacher of master classes.
Her professional technical and executive experience is in setting up and managing global identity and access management services, cross border data protection and security as well as the legal aspects at four global banks (European Investment Bank, ABN AMRO Bank, Rabobank, ING Group).
After twenty years in leading identity positions, Jacoba now focuses on strategic freelance assignments only, running strategic identity assignments on request, speaking at identity and security events, as well as some Advisory Board roles.
For example, eSSIF-Lab is an EU-funded project and aims at advancing the broad uptake of self-sovereign identities (SSI) as a next generation, open and trusted digital identity solution for faster and safer electronic transactions via the Internet and in real life. Next to being a member of the eSSIF-Lab Advisory Board, Jacoba is a reviewer for SSI projects and companies demanding EU-funding under the eSSIF-lab.
Jacoba holds a Master degree in Classics from Leiden University (Greek, Latin, Hebrew) but re-educated to start an IT career, first as a developer in Java, C++ and databases, moving on to IAM and cybersecurity. She is certified CISA CiSSP SABSA ITIL SCRUM product owner.
