Ian Oliver is a professor at the University of Oulu, working on the integration and application of attestation, trusted and confidential computing technologies to verticals such as medical systems, railways, aerospace etc. He was a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff at Nokia Bell Labs for 10 years specialising in the cybersecurity of 5G/6G telecommunications systems. Other interests include privacy – he is the author of the original book (and so titled) book on Privacy Engineering back in 2014.
