Janne Uusilehto is a hands-on, visionary leader who translates ambitious business goals into practical, scalable security and privacy solutions. With over 20 years of experience at Google, Microsoft and Nokia, he is a deeply experienced practitioner in AI, privacy compliance engineering and cybersecurity. His focus is on enabling sustainable growth by implementing proactive risk management frameworks that protect businesses while accelerating innovation.
At Google, Janne built and led the teams that pioneered privacy engineering for Google Cloud’s AI and machine learning offerings. He drove a transformation from reactive compliance to an automation-driven, risk-based privacy program, ensuring adherence to stringent global regulations (including spearheading the first ISO27701 certifications and the EU Cloud Code of Conduct).
At Microsoft, he redesigned the privacy review process for Azure, transforming it into a business accelerator and personally conducting hundreds of privacy impact assessments annually. Previously, as Nokia’s Chief Product Security Officer, he established the company’s global product security function from the ground up, leading to foundational technologies like the trusted execution environment (TEE), PKI and platform security.
Janne is recognised for his ability to drive collaborative impact across an ecosystem. He chaired the TCG Mobile Working Group, uniting industry competitors to develop and launch the global standard for mobile security. He has also held leadership roles in SAFECode, GlobalPlatform, and DIGITALEUROPE, and advised multiple governments on security policy. Janne is an optimistic, forward-looking leader dedicated to demystifying complexity and empowering teams to build trust.
