Michael Huth

Profile photo of Michael HuthMichael Huth received his first degree in Mathematics from the Technical University Darmstadt in 1988. He obtained his PhD in 1991 from the Tulane University of Louisiana and did post-doctoral studies in programming language semantics and formal verification in the US, Germany and the UK. After five years as Assistant Professor at Kansas State University, he joined Imperial College London in July 2021 where he did research in privacy and cybersecurity and became Head of the Department of Computing in September 2020. In 2017, Michael co-founded the AI start-up xayn.com; their legal co-pilot is the first to be compliant with German laws and regulations in the legal domain.  As of July 2024, he is a Visiting Professor at Imperial. In October 2024, Michael will become the Founding President of UTN (utn.de/en) – a next-generation public university with an AI focus and set in the Metropolitan Nuremberg region in Bavaria.
