Rodica Tirtea has been a Senior Policy Officer at the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) since May 2023. Prior to joining the ECCC, she worked as Cybersecurity Expert at ENISA and her work covered topics such as privacy and trust, resilience and cryptography. She has more than 15 years of experience in EU bodies, working as a cybersecurity expert and also contributing to strategy development and to the establishment of new EU bodies such as ELA and ECCC. Previously she worked as a lecturer at the University of Oradea (Romania) and as a researcher at ESAT/KU Leuven (Belgium). Her research activity focused on dependability and security aspects of distributed systems and applications (i.e. control systems of electric power infrastructure). She holds PhDs in Engineering from KU Leuven (Belgium) and in Computer Science from ‘Politehnica’ University of Timisoara (Romania). She graduated in Computer Science and Economics at the University of Oradea.
